OUR CURRICULUM
The Harris School provides a comprehensive curriculum of intellectual, aesthetic, and physical activities that further the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development of students. Our beliefs incorporate both the academic and social/emotional growth of each child, regardless of their diagnosis, trauma, or special need. The staff understands that each student comes to the school at different levels of development and each student needs an individualized plan in order to grow. They continuously balance the academic and the emotional needs of the student, using a therapeutic approach to achieve academic growth. The lessons for each child are based on the Texas Essential Elements of Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Opportunities for enrichment and socialization accompany The Harris School curriculum. Past enrichment programs include: karate, Mad Science, art therapy, music, and drama.
